Simply Armenian was given to me for
Christmas, and I too, thereafter, gave copies as gifts. Such
was my pleasure with it that I wrote to the author, Barbara Ghazarian,
the following: "I would like to take this opportunity to
tell you how much I love your cookbook. When my family first
moved to Worcester from New York when I was eight years old,
one the first people who came into our lives was Leo Harootyan.
He had a tailor's shop on Pleasant Street - we all adored him
and there was a warm personal tie between his family and mine.
His Armenian roots were always in the forefront. So, to have
your beautifully written cookbook all these years later makes
me savour not only the delicious recipes but the wonderful memories
of Leo and his family."
